Wednesday, 11th December 2024: Embrace Correction!

Scripture Reading: Hebrews 12:11
“Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.”

Reflections: The writer of Hebrews provides a heartfelt admonishment to believers, encouraging them to embrace God’s discipline as a mark of His fatherly love. Just as a loving parent disciplines their child, God corrects us for our ultimate good. While correction feels unpleasant in the moment, it is part of God’s transformative process, producing righteous character and inner peace in those who are willing to be trained by it. The writer of Hebrews reminds us that discipline is not meant to harm but to refine. God’s correction helps us mature spiritually, enabling us to let go of harmful habits and attitudes while aligning us more closely with His will. Accepting correction therefore leads to a life that glorifies God and fosters inner peace.

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to embrace Your correction with humility.

Confession: I embrace God’s correction as an act of love.
