Scripture Reading: Luke 17:27
They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
Reflections: It rained for forty days and nights. The earth had never experienced such level of torrential rainfall before. The waters covered the entire earth. Every plant was submerged and destroyed. Every house including its inhabitants were drowned and were no more. However, seconds before all these could take place, Noah and his family were ushered into the specially built ark which could withstand the ravages of the rain water. So even though everything and everybody was gone, Noah and his family remained. They were kept safe and free. Noah could not be destroyed because he walked in righteousness and obeyed the instructions of God (Genesis 6:9). The rest did not. To be righteous is a covenant rooted word and denotes one who remains on the path of the covenant terms. It is like walking in a straight line all the time. Righteousness will keep you safe and insulated from troubles.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to walk in righteousness and to heed your voice in all circumstances.
Confession. I walk in righteousness. I am kept by it’s power. I am insulated from divine judgments.
