Scripture Reading: Genesis 26:2-3
And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee and will bless thee;

Reflections: Isaac had resolved to relocate to Egypt due to a famine in Gerar. However, God intervened and urged him to reconsider, promising to bless him if he complied. Remaining in Gerar was therefore part of God’s plan for Isaac, and he needed to adhere to this directive. To encourage Isaac, God referenced his father Abraham’s obedience to divine commands, which led to his greatness. Isaac’s and Abraham’s experiences demonstrate that divine blessings result from obedience to God’s will. Obedience is critical to your relationship with God, as it involves following instructions and submitting to authority. Your level of obedience determines the extent of God’s blessings you receive.
