Scripture Reading: Romans 8:37
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Reflection: The Apostle Paul catalogued a list of difficult conditions that can confront the child of God. He described these as ‘tribulation, distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword’ and concludes that their presence in the life of a child of God does not make that person less than a conqueror. The child of God in his words is ‘more than a conqueror’ even in the wake of such confronting challenges. This is because the one (Jesus Christ) who overcame the devil – the orchestrator of limiting and inhibiting conditions, lives in us. Thus as long as Jesus lives in you, the presence of difficulties in your life does not make you a failure. To buttress his point, Paul said, even though their lives as Apostles were saddled with limiting issues which made them look as if they were “sheep headed for the slaughter”, they were nonetheless more than conquerors. The critical issue of importance is Christ in you. Be motivated today and always. Don’t ever call yourself a failure because of challenges confronting you. You are more than a conqueror!
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you that in spite of limiting conditions in my life, I am more than a conqueror through Christ who loved me.
Confession:The presence of difficulties in my life does not make me a failure! I am more than a conqueror.
