Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.

Reflection: Mary was engaged to Joseph who is described as a ‘just’ man. Translated from the Greek word ‘dikaios’, to be ‘just’ speaks of someone who observes divine rules. Evidently this is a holy and righteous person. We realized that the character exhibited by Joseph was shaped by divine (righteous) rules and this was responsible for why he yielded to the counsel of the Divine to help Mary fulfill her destiny of mothering Jesus. Whoever you associate yourself with in life will definitely influence your destiny. The standards ( whether righteous or unrighteous ) they subscribe to will determine the kind of influence they will exert over your life. No wonder the Apostle Paul cautions that we should not be ‘ unequally yoked together with unbelievers’ (2 Cor 6:14). Learn to align yourself with people who observe divine rules in life! They are the ones who will support your destiny and help you walk in righteousness!
