Scripture Reading: 1Sam 18:21
And Saul said, I will give him her, that she may be a snare to him, and that the hand of the Philistines may be against him. Wherefore Saul said to David, Thou shalt this day be my son in law in the one of the twain.
Reflection:King Saul hated David and wanted him dead. He devised a plan to execute this ambition. The plan was to get David interested in marrying his daughter. The bride price was going to serve as the main snare to get him killed. A snare is a trap or bait to get you into a limiting and inhibiting condition or environment. David was required to bring 100 foreskins of Philistines as the bride price. In order for him to get this, he needed to engage himself in war with the Philistine army. Saul knew that he wii die in the process. Surprisingly David returned from the war with rather 200 foreskins to take the hand of Saul’s daughter in marriage. Saul had such a shock! His snare had failed! The snares of your enemies against your life will fail. God’s anointing upon your life will make it impossible for the snares to work. Your enemies will always wonder who you are and end up praising your God!
Prayer: Dear Lord, let any snare they lay before me fail so that they will know that you are God!.
Confession: I am anointed by the Holy Spirit. The snares of my enemies against my life will always fail. I will remain a wonder in their eyes.
