Scripture Reading: Jonah 2:1, 10
Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish’s belly, And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
Reflections: Jonah found himself in the belly of a very big fish. He got swallowed up by this fish when he was thrown into the sea based on his own request. He found himself in this condition all because he tried to run away from his divine assignment. Life in the belly of a fish certainly will not be pleasant and perhaps it would have been a forgone conclusion that it was not needful to pray in such an environment. But Jonah prayed alright. The environment and condition could not stop him from doing so. His prayer of repentance transcended the belly of the fish to reach, God. In response, God commanded the fish to vomit him. Like Jonah, no condition should ever have the power to stop you from praying. Keep on praying. Pray without ceasing no matter where (location) and no matter what (condition)! The merciful God will come through for you!
Prayer: Oh Lord, grant me the grace to pray no matter where and no matter what.
Confession: I will pray no matter where and no matter what!
