Scripture Reading: Rom 2:16
In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
Reflections: The Greek word translated as ‘secret’ is ‘kruptos’. It implies that what is hidden is not actually taken out of existence but merely hidden from the sight of men. According to Paul, what we do in secret is one area of focus in the judgment when everyone appears before God. The judgment will review the motive behind the action committed in secrecy. God will commend you if your secret action stems from a good motive. However, if a lousy motive drove the deed committed in secret, you will attract condemnation. Therefore, it’s essential to carefully consider the motives behind keeping or doing something secret, as the judgment for your secrets should be for reward, not punishment.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me be driven by the right motives in every action I take.
Confession: I am driven by the right motives in every action I take
