Scripture Reading: Matthew 15:28
Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour
Reflections: A woman once sought Jesus’ help to heal her daughter. Despite Jesus initially ignoring her pleas, she continues following him and his disciples. The disciples asked Jesus to rebuke her and make her stop following them, but she continued to engage Jesus in conversation. Her approach eventually persuaded Jesus to fulfil her request, and he praised her strong faith. This woman’s persistency exemplifies the attitude essential for success. Persistence refers to sticking to one’s beliefs or actions in the face of adversity or opposition. It is a critical success enabler. Learn from this woman and others (Luke 18:1-8, 11:5-10, & Genesis 26:18-26) to succeed in spite of adversities.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me adhere to the principle of persistence as I pursue my life’s goals.
Confession: I am persistent in life.
