Scripture Reading: 2 Cor 5:9-10
Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
Reflection: The Apostle Paul gets our focus on the subject of rewards in heaven reserved for those who labor in the Lord. To labor means to render selfless and quality service to promote and expand the kingdom. Five different crowns to be awarded to those who labor are cited in the New Testament. They are: Crown of Righteousness (2 Timothy 4:8, Crown of Victory (1 Corinthians 9:25-27), Crown of Life (James 1:12; Revelation 2:10),Crown of Glory(1 Peter 5:2-4; Matthew 5:19), and Crown of Rejoicing (1 Thessalonians 2:19). Truly, living by the standards of the Christian faith and holding on no matter what attracts eternal and imperishable rewards. Keep working out and living your life as a disciple of Christ. Don’t just be a Christian in name. Stand up for Him and do not relent in rendering services to promote and expand His kingdom. It will pay off one day with your flight to heaven! Crowns surely awaits you!
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you for the reward of crowns in heaven. Please help me to unreservedly stand up for you and render selfless and quality services to promote and expand your kingdom on earth.
Confession: I am a disciple of Christ. I have no reservations in standing up for Christ. I render selfless and quality services to promote and expand the kingdom. I am heaven bound. I have rewards of crowns to receive one day. Glory hallelujah!
