Tuesday, 5th May 2020: Stick to what you are destined to be!

Scripture Reading: John 6:15 When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.

Reflections: They were hungry. They numbered over 5,000. Lifting up the only available food of 5 loaves of bread and 2 fishes to the heavens, He prayed. He then asked His disciples to begin distribution. Amazingly everybody was served without the food ever getting finished. 12 baskets of leftovers were gathered at the end of the feeding event. Everybody was stunned. They concluded that Jesus was indeed the promised one to redeem Israel and made up their minds to install Him as a political king. Immediately, Jesus read through the lines and acted swiftly. He knew this gesture was completely out of God’s will. He slipped out of the environment before they could take action. People or demands (out of the flesh) can easily get you to become what you are not supposed to be. This will certainly lead you to encounter problems that are uncalled for. Like Jesus you must learn to say no to what you know you are not called to do. Just stick to what you are destined to be!

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to know and to resist what you have not ordained for my life.

Confession: I yield to only plans that God has ordained for my life.
