Scripture Reading: Joh 6:15 When Jesus, therefore, perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone
Reflections: The people numbered five thousand besides the women and children. After being fed miraculously by five loaves of bread and two fishes, they knew, the miracle worker, Jesus Christ could help them gain independence from Roman rule. Immediately they began planning an investiture process to install Him as king. However, Jesus, who knew he should not allow anybody to use him for any purpose that contradicts the will of God, had seen through their plans. He slipped out of the whole plot and secretly set off to a destination unknown to them. Their goal was foiled. In life, people may cunningly and wittingly try to use you based on your skills, gift, talents, abilities etc., to achieve their vendettas against others. But like Jesus, you must see through it and make your way out swiftly!
Prayer: Dear Lord, give me what it takes to keep myself away from people who will want to use me to achieve their selfish desires.
Confession: I do not allow myself to be used by people to do what God has not ordained.
