Scripture Reading: Genesis 41:16
And Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, It is not in me: God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace.

Reflections: It was a tremendous comfort to learn that someone could finally interpret his dreams. Thus, Pharaoh dispatched word to promptly summon Joseph from the prison. Pharaoh informed Joseph upon his arrival that no one was able to interpret his dream and that he hoped Joseph would be able to do so. As Pharaoh eagerly awaited his response, Joseph swiftly replied that he could not interpret the dream on his own, but that God would empower him to do so. Joseph’s statement quickly transferred the focus from himself to God. In essence, he wanted God to be exalted and glorified. In response to Joseph’s interpretation of his dream, Pharaoh promoted him to the position of prime minister. Regardless of your possessions or gifts, you must learn to get God acknowledged as the source. Let God take the place of attention in your life. This is what will lead to your further promotion in life.

Prayer: Help me, Lord, not to bring attention to myself but rather to you.

Confession: God will always take the place of attention in my life.
