Tuesday, 3rd January 2017: You can come out of danger!

Scripture Reading: 1 Sam 21: 14-15

Then said Achish unto his servants, Lo, ye see the man is mad: wherefore then have ye brought him to me? Have I need of mad men, that ye have brought this fellow to play the mad man in my presence? shall this fellow come into my house?

Reflection: In his bid to escape Saul’s threat on his life, David sought refuge in the land of the Philistines. As he stood before Achish, king of Gath, he realized he had made such a big mistake. He had now placed himself into danger without knowing it. What a case of running from ‘frying pan into the fire’! . Now he needed to escape immediately but it looked impossible. Suddenly the thought to feign madness came to him. This became his escape strategy! The king took him for a mad person and ordered him out of his presence. David was therefore out into a safe environment once again! Like David, we can also run into danger without knowing it. When this happens, God will give us an escape strategy! Be rest assured, you can always come out of danger with the help of God. He is on your side!(Psalm 46:1).

Confession: By my God, I will come out of danger.
