Scripture Reading: Mark 7: 29-30
And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter.. And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed.
Reflections: The woman had been concerned about her ill daughter’s condition. She was aware of its demonic influence. Therefore, she sought Jesus’ intervention. During her interaction with Jesus, she realized that Jesus was not prepared to grant her request. But despite Jesus’ attempts to dissuade her, she remained steadfast in her conviction and refused to let him go. She countered every argument Jesus used to convince her to surrender. She was adamant and unwavering in her convictions. Jesus was moved by her strength of conviction and consequently healed her daughter. Any turning point in your life, like the woman’s, will be primarily determined by the strength of your conviction to work toward that change. Be a man or woman of conviction!
Prayer: Oh Lord, help me to be a man/woman of conviction.
Confession: I a man/woman of conviction.
