Scripture Reading: Colossians 1:5-6 For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel; Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:
Reflection: The Apostle Paul writes to the Colossians. He is so excited about their fruit bearing lives as christians. They have not merely lived in name as christians. They were bearing the desired fruits. A fruit is a product of an action. Your Christian life is just like a fruit bearing plant. It must develop and grow based on the word of God and produce results (fruit). How much of God’s word you… will allow to form in your life and transform you will determine how much fruit you will bear. Your fruit bearing life is what defines your life as a christian and not just the mere title ‘christian’. Everyone else can carry that title but what will make the difference is the fruit produced. You can’t afford to fall short of God’s expectation of who a christian is. Neither can you deceive anyone. Your fruit will definitely speak for itself. It is time to do as God’s word says. Keep bearing the fruit of christlikeness (Galatians 5:22-23, 2 Peter 1:5-8).
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to yield to the transforming power of your word. Confession: My life is yielded to the transforming power of the WORD of God. I am not a Christian in word but in deed. I keep bearing the fruit of Christlikeness.
