Scripture Reading: Gen 30:27. And Laban said unto him, I pray thee, if I have found favour in thine eyes, tarry: for I have learned by experience that the LORD hath blessed me for thy sake. And he said, Appoint me thy wages, and I will give it.
Reflections: For 20 years he had been working so hard shepherding the flock of his master and uncle Laban. Within this period, Laban had cheated and changed his wages 10 times. Now he felt he needed to move on and informed Laban accordingly. Rather than granting him his request, Laban for the first time found himself begging him to stay on. He began to acknowledge the value of his contribution to the success of his business and how it will be unwise to let him go. In his plea, he goes ahead to ask Jacob to determine a new and increased salary scale which he was going to honor at all cost. God had made a way for Jacob to be compensated at long last. This new business deal turned around his fortunes and made him rich and wealthy. God will not allow your employer to cheat you all the time. Like Jacob, just keep working hard and producing results. Your breakthrough is in the pipeline!
Prayer: Oh Lord, bring me to the place where my hard work is acknowledged and duly compensated.
