Scripture Reading: 2 Sam 3:8-9
So do God to Abner, and more also, except, as the LORD hath sworn to David, even so I do to him; To translate the kingdom from the house of Saul, and to set up the throne of David over Israel and over Judah, from Dan even to Beersheba.
Reflections: After Saul’s death, David was prophesied to be the next king of both Judah and Israel. However, Saul’s army commander, Abner, prevented David from taking the throne by crowning Saul’s son, Ishbosheth, as king instead. This left David with only the kingdom of Judah. But one day, Abner and Ishbosheth had a disagreement that caused Abner to turn to God’s prophetic word about David. Abner broke his alliance with Ishbosheth and vowed to give the kingdom of Israel to David. Thus, David’s stumbling block was removed. Just like David, those who block your path to success can be turned around by God to work in your favor.
Prayer: Oh Lord, overturn every opposition to my life.
Confession: God will turn those who hinder my success to favor my path
