Scripture Reading: Isaiah 8:18
Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.
Reflections: The prophet Isaiah submits one medium God engages to prove himself in the world through his covenant children – Signs and Wonders! Signs and Wonders refer to outstanding miraculous acts initiated by God and performed in an individual’s life directly or through an individual into another person’s life that doubtless points to God as the all powerful and self existing one. Daniel is a clear example. We note that he came out of a lions’ den alive. In another instance he was able to reveal Nebuchadnezzar’s secret without having any physical prior knowledge. He was indeed a sign and wonder proving the supremacy of God. As a covenant child of God, it is your reserved privilege to encounter signs and wonders in your life (Mark 16:16-18). You were indeed made for signs and wonders! Get going!
Prayer: Lord, make me a sign and wonder in life, to prove your supremacy.
Confession: I am made for signs and wonders in this life.
