Scripture Reading: Acts 8:4-6
Therefore they that were scattered abroad went everywhere preaching the word.
Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ unto them.
And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles he did.
Reflections: The church encountered persecution in Jerusalem. This scattered the disciples to locations far and near. Only the Apostles were left in behind. Something significant, however, happened as the people migrated to other places. They kept preaching the message of salvation. They knew the preaching of the Gospel was not only to be done by the Apostles. One of them was Philip. He singlehandedly, upon arriving in Samaria, preached to the whole city. He watched as the people gladly gave their lives to Christ. Like the others, he had made the preaching of the gospel his business. Together they had given a voice to the Gospel. The Gospel remains voiceless until you give it a voice.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me give a voice to the gospel.
Confession: I am the voice of the Gospel.
