Scripture Reading: Daniel 5:22
And thou his son, O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thine heart, though thou knewest all this;
Reflections: As King Belshazzar used sacred Temple vessels for a feast, a mysterious hand wrote a message on the wall. The king was terrified and called for Daniel to interpret the message. Daniel began by reminding Belshazzar of his father’s humiliation by God, who caused him to live with wild beasts for seven years. This experience, according to Daniel, should have taught Belshazzar humility, but he ignored it and now faced a dire fate. Per the interpretation of the writing on the wall, Belshazzar was going to die for eating and drinking with the vessels of the house of the Lord. Unlike Belshazzar, you cannot ignore past events if you want to stay out of trouble and keep progressing. The wisdom of the past can guide you positively!
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me learn from past experiences.
Confession: I will learn from my mistakes.
