Scripture Reading: Judges 4:17
Howbeit Sisera fled away on his feet to the tent of Jael, the wife of Heber the Kenite: for there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.
Reflections: For 20 years, the people of Israel were oppressed and tormented by the king of Canaan. Sisera, the captain of the army of Canaan, was the source of all the oppressive acts. He was so powerful and had nine hundred chariots of iron at his disposal. It looked as if he could never be overthrown. However, God surprised Israel by giving them the victory in a war. He threw Sisera, all the chariots, and his entire army into a panic right in front of Israel. Then Sisera abandoned his chariot and fled on foot. It was an unbelievable sight as Barak, army commander of Israel (in his chariot), chased Sisera, running away on foot, until he met his untimely death. No enemy of the child of God can ever be more powerful than God. Like Sisera, your oppressors will lose their power, get humiliated and be wholly overthrown. It shall be known that God reigns supreme!
Prayer: Dear Lord, it is heartwarming to know that no enemy of mine can ever be more powerful than you are.
Confession: No enemy of mine is more powerful than God.
