Tuesday, 25th September 2018:You are driven by what you put into your mind!

Scripture Reading: 1 Chronicles 28:2
Then David the king stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people: As for me, I had in mine heart to build an house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and for the footstool of our God, and had made ready for the building:

Reflections: David summoned all the officers of his kingdom to a meeting. They were eager to hear what the King was going to say since such a convention was sure to convey important political decisions of the kingdom. In the meeting, the King pointed to a host of building materials he had gathered. He tells them ‘I have gathered these building materials because I saw the need to build God a temple and had put this quest in my mind’. Even though we know from the story that he later informed them that God wanted Solomon rather to build the temple, we derive an important life principle from his action – you are driven by what you put in your mind! He actually gathered the building materials because he had put the need to do so in his mind. Watch what you put in your mind. You will be definitely driven by it!

Prayer: Lord, help me put in my mind what will not lead me out of the path of righteousness.

Confession: My mind will only ponder over what will keep me on the path of righteousness.
