Scripture Reading: Mark 5:27-29
When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague
Reflections: Over the course of twelve years, she had repeatedly attempted to cure her haemorrhage with various treatments. The failure of every effort she made should have emotionally crushed her to the point where she should have given up on life completely, yet she persevered. She heard Jesus passing by and chose to get divine healing. She saw how hard it was to break through the mob as she left home. However, her determination to touch Jesus’ garment propelled her. She kept wading through the mob, sometimes falling and rising again, until she was about a hand length away. She grabbed Jesus’s hem fast. The bleeding stopped immediately. She had succeeded this time around. Like her, you will also succeed if you don’t give up. Persevere until you win!
Prayer: Oh Lord, help me make my way through to victory.
Confession: I persevere until I see victory.
