Tuesday, 25th October 2016: Don’t entertain the prophets who see vanity and divine lies!

Scripture Reading: Eziekiel 13:9
And mine hand shall be upon the prophets that see vanity, and that divine lies: they shall not be in the assembly of my people, neither shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither shall they enter into the land of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.

Reflection: God was heart broken. What he expected of the Prophets of Israel was totally on the contrary. Rather than standing in the gap and causing Israel to repent of their waywardness, the prophets chose to speak what will make the people comfortable and happy in life. They even employed lies to make their prophecies appealing. God described them as ‘foxes in the desert’. He knew they should no longer be tolerated in the assembly of Israel lest they use their cunning ways to lead many more people astray. To herald the manifestation of his desire, God commands Eziekiel to prophecy against these prophets. As Eziekiel does that, God will begin to move into action to judge them accordingly and bring their activities to an end. It is clear that God expects us not to entertain prophets who see vanity and divine lies but to get them out of the assembly of the saints. Like Eziekiel, you have a duty to prophecy against them so that God will move into action. Go ahead and prophecy! Speak in prayer against these prophets.

Prayer: Let the prophets in our land that see vanity and divine lies be scattered by fire . Let them be taken out of the congregation of the saints.

Confession: I speak against the prophets that see vanity and divine lies. I will not entertain them. They will no more be found in the assembly of the saints.
