Scripture Reading: Matthew 9:32-33 (KJV)
As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil. And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marveled, saying, it was never so seen in Israel. (Matthew 9:32-33)
Reflections: In this passage, we encounter a man who was unable to speak because he was possessed by a demon. His condition was not merely physical or natural; it was rooted in a spiritual cause. When Jesus cast out the demon, the man was healed, astonishing the crowd. While not all sicknesses are caused by demonic forces, this passage reminds us that certain conditions, especially those that seem resistant to medical or natural treatment, may have a spiritual source. It’s crucial to recognize that spiritual warfare plays a role in the lives of believers, and some battles require a direct confrontation with the forces of darkness. As believers, we must discern, pray, and use the authority of Christ to overcome spiritual battles and experience deliverance.
Prayer: Lord, give me the discernment to recognize the spiritual roots of my struggles.
Confession: I have the discernment to recognize and deal with the spiritual roots of my struggles. rans4d
