Scripture Reading: Genesis 32:9
And Jacob said, O God of my father Abraham, and God of my father Isaac, the LORD which saidst unto me, Return unto thy country, and to thy kindred, and I will deal well with thee:
Reflections: Jacob was returning to his homeland from Syria after being away for a long time. He had left to escape his brother Esau’s anger, fearing for his life. Jacob cunningly obtained his brother’s birthright and deceived his father to receive his blessing. When Jacob heard that Esau was approaching with 400 men, he was filled with fear and prayed to God. He reminded God of His promise for him to return home, and miraculously, Esau received Jacob with love and forgiveness. This story illustrates the importance of following God’s guidance and relying on His promises. Like Jacob, learn to consistently act on God’s word and remind Him of what He has said. By this, you are sure to encounter divine provisions and interventions.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me act based on your word.
Confession: I act based on God’s word.
