Tuesday, 23rd July 2024: All it takes is to be a disciple!

Scripture Reading: Acts 9:17-18
And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightiest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost. And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.

Reflections: Ananias is an influential figure in the story of Apostle Paul’s calling into ministry. The Lord chose him to heal Paul of his blindness, fill him with the Spirit, and confirm his ministry. The Lord appeared to Ananias in a vision and instructed him to minister to Paul. In the vision, Ananias was given directions to Saul’s house and was explicitly told what to do and say when he met Saul. Ananias was described as a disciple, showing he was an ordinary church member without any leadership or pastoral position. This encounter illustrates that God can use anyone to bring people healing, deliverance, and salvation as long as they are committed disciples. A disciple points to someone who has dedicated their life to the Lord and is actively working to transform their character to be more like that of the Lord.

Prayer: Dear Lord, please prepare and use me as your disciple to influence lives.

Confession: I am a ready vessel for the Lord to use.
