Scripture Reading: Psalm 92:12
The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

Reflections: The psalmist compares the righteous to palm and cedar trees. “The righteous” refers to someone who has a right relationship with God and adheres to the standards of the covenant. The palm tree is noted for its height and strength, while the cedar tree has broad branches and leaves. Both trees are a source of influence within their environments. Being likened to a palm and cedar tree symbolizes a life that is abundantly prosperous, well-fortified, and well-positioned to influence others positively. Hence, in order to exert a positive influence on their progeny, God selects individuals who are blameless to hold positions of prosperity, security, and power. As a righteous person of the Lord, your relationship with God should bring you to a place where you are blessed to influence others positively.
