Tuesday, 23rd April 2024: Protect your interest in life with applied wisdom!

Scripture Reading: Jeremiah 32:9-10
And I bought the field of Hanameel my uncle’s son, that was in Anathoth, and weighed him the money, even seventeen shekels of silver. And I subscribed the evidence, and sealed it, and took witnesses, and weighed him the money in the balances.

Reflections: God instructed Jeremiah to purchase a piece of land in Anathoth from his cousin Hanamel. Although he was related to Hanamel, Jeremiah ensured the transaction was done formally. He had a third party witness the deal and had Hanamel create the deed of purchase, which they both signed in front of the witness. This arrangement shows that Jeremiah was wise and cautious, even when dealing with family, despite his authority as a prophet. The lesson is that it is essential to treat business deals seriously and obtain proper legal documentation, regardless of the trust or relationship with the other party. It is necessary to apply wisdom and protect one’s interests in life.

Prayer: Dear Lord, please grant me the wisdom to protect my interests in life.

Confession: I don’t take things for granted. I apply wisdom to protect every interest of my life.
