Scripture Reading: Daniel 5:22
And thou his son, O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thine heart, though thou knewest all this.
Reflections: God chastised King Nebuchadnezzar in his lifetime for the pride he exhibited and expected his son, Belshazzar, to have learnt from that experience. Shockingly he failed. As a result, through Daniel, God pronounced divine judgment over his life. That same night he died, and his kingdom was divided. God expects us to learn from the mistakes of others as quickly as possible so that we will be better off. Paul was right when he said, ‘Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition’ – 1 Cor 10:11. Go ahead! Learn from the mistakes of others. It is great wisdom. By it, you will be established and live a life above reproach!
Prayer: Dear Lord, please help me take a cue from the mistakes of others.
Confession: As long as I live, I will always learn from the mistakes and experiences of others.
