Scripture Reading: Acts 7:40-41
Saying unto Aaron, Make us gods to go before us: for as for this Moses, which brought us out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him. And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice unto the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands.
Reflections: Moses had gone up the mountain to meet God on behalf of the people of Israel. He was going to receive the Ten Commandments. It was almost 40 days since he left. The camp of Israel wondered what might have happened to him. They became impatient and could no longer wait. In their thoughts they failed to consider that since they were on a journey which had started off with miraculous visitations of the most high God, there was no way God was going leave them stranded without their leader. Their impatience led them into satanic worship where they worshipped a golden calf amidst having sex indiscriminately with each other. They really messed up. Impatience is when you can’t wait too long for something to happen. In such moments, you easily get irritated and respond to issues in a way which takes you out of the will of God. Patience is therefore a key virtue to acquire. Without it, you can mess up just like the people of Israel.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me do away with impatience in life.
Confession: I will give no place to the devil through impatience. I will remain patient in life by the grace of God!
