Tuesday, 21st May 2024: Faithful individuals do not make excuses!!

Scripture Reading: Hebrews 3:2
Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house

Reflections: The author of Hebrews stresses the importance of striving for Christlikeness if we claim to be holy and partakers of the heavenly calling. He emphasises that faithfulness is a crucial part of Christlikeness by illustrating how Christ faithfully fulfilled his earthly calling. This means that claiming to be Christlike requires faithfulness in fulfilling our responsibilities in God’s house and in life. The word ‘faithful’ is derived from the Greek adjective ‘pistos,’ which conveys trustworthiness and reliability in carrying out commands or fulfilling duties. Essentially, faithful individuals do not make excuses when fulfilling their commitments. Being faithful implies unwavering loyalty to one’s promises, duties, or responsibilities. Embracing faithfulness is therefore essential to embodying Christlikeness.

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to be faithful.

Confession: I am dependable.
