Scripture Reading: Matthew 14:30
“But when he saw the wind, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried out, ‘Lord, save me!’”

Reflections: This verse recounts Peter’s experience as he walked on water toward Jesus. While Peter kept his focus on Jesus, he was able to do the extraordinary walking on water despite the storm. However, when he shifted his gaze to the strong wind and crashing waves, fear overcame him, and he began to sink. This story holds a powerful lesson: our focus determines our ability to rise above life’s challenges. The “wind” symbolizes the distractions, fears, and obstacles we encounter. When we fix our eyes on Jesus, we can overcome the storms of life. But when we focus on our problems, doubt and fear take root, causing us to falter. Let this reminder inspire us to keep our faith anchored in Christ, no matter the storms we face.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to keep my eyes fixed on You, especially when life’s storms try to overwhelm me.
