Scripture Reading: Luke 7:4-5
And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this: For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.
Reflections: A Roman centurion was desperate for Jesus to heal his dying servant. As a result, he dispatched some Jewish officials to implore Jesus’ divine assistance. The Jewish rulers urgently demanded Jesus comply with the centurion’s request. The claim was based on the centurion’s single-handed funding of the synagogue’s construction. Jesus, moved by this endeavour, among others, healed the centurion’s servant. A synagogue is a place of communal worship for Jewish people. The Roman centurion, therefore, established an environment for salvation and spiritual growth by putting up a synagogue. Learn to support initiatives that promote people’s salvation and spirituality. When the necessity arises, it will undoubtedly connect you to divine intervention!
