Scripture Reading: Gen 45:5-7
Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life. For these two years hath the famine been in the land: and yet there are five years, in the which there shall neither be earing nor harvest. And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance.

Reflections: Jospeh had become prime minister in Egypt. He wept uncontrollably before his brothers who had come to purchase food.. They didn’t know he was their own brother whom they sold into slavery years back. When he disclosed his identity , they become terrified. He asked them not to grieve or be angry with themselves for what they did and that it was God’s plan for him to come to Egypt to save people’s lives. His response intimates the fact that he had now grown to understand issues better. Initially as he struggled as a slave and as a prisoner, he might have had great resentments towards his brothers but now with the passage of time and the turn of events, his understanding had been enlightened to come to the realization that all was geared towards bringing him into his destiny. Like Joseph, you may not understand why you are going through some hardship now but with time, you will get it all. Surely, you will understand it better by and by! Just hold on!

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to hold on until I get to understand it all.

Confession: I just don’t react. I hold on until I have understood it all.
