Scripture Reading: John 21:5-6
Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No. And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast, therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.
Reflections: Led by Peter, the disciples decided to go fishing. Unfortunately, their expedition yielded nothing. Throughout the night, their nets failed to catch any fish. It was pretty frustrating. Just as dawn was breaking, Jesus stood on the shore. They didn’t realise it was Him, though. He offered them a solution. They were to throw out their nets on the right side. The results were staggering. There were so many fish caught that it became challenging to get the net out. Like the disciples, although God will give us the solutions to our problems, we will still be required to “throw out our nets into the sea.” This translates into faith-driven actions. The bottom line is that God may not spoon-feed us. We will have something to do to experience His supernatural provisions!
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your ever readiness to sort me out.
Confession: I respond to divine directions with an act of faith.
