Scripture Reading: Job 10:12
Thou hast granted me life and favour, and thy visitation hath preserved my spirit

Reflections: Job is thankful to God for granting him both life and favor. From this statement, we gather that life must not be devoid of favor. Coming from the Hebrew word ‘chesed’ which means kindness, favor denotes the situation where people take delight in you in such a way that they are moved to show you acts of kindness. It is clear from life’s experiences that from time to time, one will definitely be in need of favor! For instance by favor, Esther was preferred among other competitors ( Esther 2:15-17). At another time, by it she escaped death. (Esther 5:2). Favor therefore appears to occupy such a significant place in life. Life without it is indeed no life! You cannot do without favor in life! Ask God for favor and thank him for it!

Prayer: Lord, please grant me life and favor! I thank you for it!
