Scripture Reading: Isaiah 7:9
And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah’s son. If ye will not believe, surely ye shall not be established.
Reflection: The armies of Aram and Ephraim joined together in one camp against Judah. Their plan was to stage a coup d’état and remove Ahaz as King and replace him with their own choice. When Ahaz heard this message, he and the people became frightened. They shook with fear like trees of the forest blowing in the wind. God then sent Isaiah the prophet to calm him down and to assure him that the plans of his nemies will not work. God was going to defeat their counsel. However God needed Ahaz to believe HIS word in order for it to take effect. If you don’t believe this, you will not survive’ God specifically reiterated to Ahaz through the prophetic voice of Isaiah. God’s word is available to turn things around for you but until you demonstrate faith in it (believe), it’s efficacy remains deactivated. Your faith is what will activates the power in the word to work for you!
Prayer: dear Lord, help me to believe every word of yours!
Confession: I have faith in what God’s word says. I experience the miraculous power of the word!
