Tuesday, 14th May 2024: The WORD is a sanctifier!

Scripture Reading: John 17:16-17
They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

Reflections: Jesus prayed for His disciples and asked the Father to sanctify them through His Word. The term “sanctify” means to set apart or dedicate to God, implying a lifestyle that distinguishes an individual. As disciples who were called out of the world, they were required to live a life entirely different from others. The Word of God is the tool that facilitates this transformational lifestyle. When you align yourself with the standards of God’s Word with the help of the Holy Spirit, your lifestyle changes, and you reflect God’s reality, setting you apart from all other lifestyles exhibited in the world. At that point, a significant goal would have been achieved for why you are a Christian. You must get sanctified by the Word; there are no two ways.

Prayer: Oh Lord help me align my lifestyle with your word.

Confession: I am sanctified by the word of God.
