Tuesday, 14th January 2025: Learn to Overcome Distractions!

Scripture Reading: Matt 9:25-26
But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose. And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land.

Reflections: Jesus encountered a room full of distractions as He entered the ruler’s house. The mourners and the musicians were making noise, creating an atmosphere of doubt and despair. However, for Jesus to perform the miracle of raising the ruler’s daughter, He first had to remove the distractions. He commanded the people to leave, allowing Him to operate in the environment of faith and peace. This scene teaches us a valuable lesson about dealing with distractions in our own lives. Distractions, whether external or internal, hinder our ability to hear God, receive His instructions, and experience His miraculous power. When we are surrounded by noise, doubt, and confusion, it becomes difficult to move forward. Just as Jesus had to remove the crowd before performing the miracle, we must learn to remove distractions in our lives to see the work of God manifest.

Prayer: Lord, help me to recognize the distractions in my life and remove them.

Confession: I choose to focus on God’s promises and remove all distractions that hinder His work in my life.
