Tuesday, 13th June 2023: God is your home!

Scripture Reading: Psalm 90:1  A Prayer of Moses the man of God. Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.

Reflections: In his prayer, Moses affirms that God is Israel’s dwelling place. A dwelling area is a human residence. It is a conspicuous residential area where individuals seek refuge from the tensions and concerns of the outside world. It is thus a refuge and a source of protection from extreme temperature, wind and rain, as well as all antisocial elements from the outside world. In addition to rest and privacy, a house provides a healthy environment for its members to develop their personality, attitudes and values. Moses was using figurative language when he referred to God as Israel’s dwelling place to emphasize the protective, educational and sustaining role God performs in the lives of the Israelites. They never lacked anything that promoted their rest, well-being, security, and advancement. Like Israel, God is your home! Supernaturally, God keeps, protects, and nurtures you!
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you that I live in you. I am never homeless!
Confession: I live in God. I am not homeless.
