Scripture Reading: 1 Sam 7:12-13
Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Hitherto hath the LORD helped us. So the Philistines were subdued, and they came no more into the coast of Israel: and the hand of the LORD was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.
Reflection: Israel was thrown into great fear as the Philistines launched their attack. The only way out was to seek divine help. God responded to their desperate cry by striking the Philistines with THUNDER from heaven. The Philistines could not stand the thunder assault. They lost the battle. To commemorate this sweet victory, Samuel erected a stone of remembrance and named it Ebenezer. This was on purpose! Ebenezer means ‘the stone of help’. The stone was to remind Israel that Divine help will always be available to God’s children. Should you ever come to a point of need, just see the ‘ Stone of Help’ by faith and cry out unto God. He will surely show up. Ebenezer!
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you that divine help will never cease.
Confession: The stone of help is erected in my spirit. I will never lack divine help
