Scripture Reading: Revelations 3:21
To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
Reflections: In his message to the church of the Laodiceans, the Lord Jesus makes it clear that heaven is a place for overcomers. He emphasized that while he was on the earth, he had to overcome in order to be able to take up his destined place in heaven. To overcome connotes the presence of an opposition and the need to quell it. Most importantly from its meaning in Greek (Nikao), it speaks of engaging yourself in battle with victory assured! Overcoming therefore requires a winning mentality and an effort. Thus you are assured of winning any battle set against your life once you stand up to oppose it. The story of David and Goliath clearly illustrates this. David knew of his position as an overcomer. All he needed to do was to get into warfare with Goliath knowing that victory was assured him by the Lord. Surprisingly, the army of Israel could not take up this position and they suffered humiliation until David arrived on the scene. You have been designed by God to overcome. Just manifest this design!
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for the spirit of the overcomer.
Confession: I am an overcomer. I engage myself in battle with victory already assured.
