Scripture Reading: Nehemiah 9:21
Yea, forty years didst thou sustain them in the wilderness, so they lacked nothing; their clothes waxed not old, and their feet swelled not.

Reflections: The real journey to Canaan began after the people of Israel had miraculously crossed the red sea. They were LED BY GOD to navigate their way through the wilderness. They did this for 40 years before finally getting to their destination. A wilderness is an ‘uncultivated, uninhabited and inhospitable region’. This means that a wilderness region can hardly ever support human civilisation. However, this condition did not affect the people of Israel in any way. They lacked nothing. Their clothes did not wear out, and their feet did not even swell for the long-distance they covered on foot. What made this vast difference was the divine factor. God was with them as their sustenance. As long as you are LED in life by God to undertake any ‘journey’ or endeavour, He will prove Himself as your sustenance.

Prayer: Dear Lord, lead me and be my sustenance.

Confession: God is my sustenance.
