Scripture Reading: Isa 40:31. But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Reflections: Strength speaks of one’s ability to do something. As the Psalmist notes that the strength of man is truly limited, he assures us of the availability of divine strength. Those who wait on the Lord, according to the psalmist shall have access to this limitless strength. By implication, God’s strength is available to only those who CHOOSE to wait on Him. This underscores CHOICE making as a critical factor in determining how we will either progress or retrogress in life. The choices you make will therefore regulate your access to divine strength and how you function in this rare ability. Samson was for instance blessed with a special kind of divine strength but his CHOICE of fraternizing with Delilah, a harlot cost him dearly and brought him into shame and humiliation (Judges 16). Be the one who makes the right choice that keeps one connected to the continuous flow of divine strength.
Prayer: Dear Lord help me make the choices that will keep me connected to divine strength!
Confession: The choices I make are driven by the Holy Spirit. I am kept in the flow of divine strength.
