Scripture Reading: Luke 17:10 So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do

Reflections: A duty is a task or action that one is required to perform as part of one’s job or responsibility. In his conversation with his disciples about servanthood, Jesus focused on the practice where masters do not really thank their servants for performing their duties for the simple reason that they have just done what they were hired to do. By this he was getting the disciples to understand that the most important thing (motivation) is not about being thanked for doing what you are tasked to do but rather being able to do what is expected of you whether you are appreciated or not. Such a positioning or mindset in life, will no doubt enable you to become limitless and unstoppable when it comes to excellent delivery and performance. Just keep performing your duties to the best of your abilities no matter what in life. You can never be ignored!

Prayer: Dear Lord, grant me the grace to be able to consistently undertake any given task successfully whether I am appreciated or not.

Confession: I perform my responsibilities excellently not because I want to be appreciated. I do so because it is my duty.
