Scripture Reading: Judges 6:14-15
And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee? And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.
Reflection: Gideon was startled to hear the angel refer to him as a mighty man of valor and to be further told that he was God’s choice to save Israel from the hand of the Midianites. He looked at his poverty stricken background and his seemingly inabilities and concluded that he was the wrong choice for the task. Later, events however proved that he was indeed the right choice. He led Israel into battle to defeat the Midianites. He was only able to step into his destiny when he learnt to see himself as God perceived him to be. Until you see yourself as God sees you, you can’t be an accomplisher in life. Don’t accept to be who you think you are if it does not agree with what God says. You are what God says you are. Quit a life of fear and exhibit that of the personality who is known to be as bold as a lion.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to resist being what I am not and to manifest who you say I am.
Confession: I am what God says I am. I refuse to be what I am not supposed to be.
