Scripture Reading: Mat 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
Reflections: Peter got it right when he proclaimed that Jesus is the son of God. Jesus was excited and exclaimed that ‘flesh and blood’ had not revealed this to Peter but the Father who is in heaven. ‘Flesh and blood’ simply refers to a fellow human being and therefore to a life in the physical. By the encounter Peter had with Jesus we get to understand that even though your life is in the physical, there is information beyond the realm of ‘flesh and blood’ which you will have to access in order to handle issues better in the physical. Such information can be uncovered or accessed by means of divine revelation. Divine Revelation is when the Holy Spirit reveals a secret to you. It could be through avenues such as dreams and visions or other revelatory avenues. Ultimately, you cannot always depend on ‘flesh and blood’. You’ve got to go past the realm of ‘flesh and blood’. There is a place for divine revelation which you must access (Daniel 2:47)!
Prayer: Oh Lord, help me bypass the realm of flesh and blood and to get to the realm where I uncover secrets by divine revelations.
Confession: I am flesh and blood but not limited to that realm. By the Holy Spirit I am enabled to know what is beyond the natural.
