Scripture Reading: Luke 18:37-39
And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by. And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me. And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
Reflection: Even though his eyes could not guide him towards the direction of Jesus, he was quick enough to know he could utilize his voice. He will not let Jesus pass by without healing him from his blind condition. At each attempt of his shout out to Jesus for mercy, the crowd intimidated him and asked him to keep quiet. He remained defiant and cried out the more. Suddenly Jesus heard him and responded He was healed instantly. What a joy that flooded his soul. He would have missed this divine intervention if he had allowed the crowd to intimidate him. Don’t allow anyone to intimidate you in life. Keep pursuing what you set out to do until you achieve it.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to persevere in this life even in the midst of intimidators.
Confession: I refuse to be intimidated by forces who are averse to my breakthroughs in life.
